I have an '01 SRX and went from 9 tooth drivers to 8 tooth anti-ratchets. Now I need to obtain a "meter gear housing" to have the speedometer read correct. My question is, does anyone know FOR SURE which one I need to order to get the right one. I have asked at the local Yamaha shop and have been told the Mountain Max had 8 tooth drivers but cannot get a definite answer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

yes the yamaha dealer is correct, the mountain max's have 8 tooth drivers, so just get one from say a 2000 mountain max and that should work for ya.
