Hey, I know this has been done to death but I just wanted to make sure I have my facts right. From what I understand to long travel a 98 all I need is viper rear shocks and viper limiter straps. Is this right? Also for the front end if I buy the aftermarket shock mounts that raise the front 1.25 inches (the ones I see on ebay all the time) I can just use my stock ohlins. Your guys input would be great thanks.

Yes you can use the ohlins with the extensions and you need the smaller plastic bushing for the transfer rods which i believe is 7mm and you can get it from the dealer.

you dont need to buy the brackets, just flip yours left for right, and upside down. you will need a washer under the lower mount hole for spacing on the bellypan. when they are installed loosly, try to bolt your shock back up, you will see where there is a place that you need to grind a relief. trace the shock with a marker, remove bracket and grind, bolt back up with locktite and enjoy. costs nothing and gives you 1in.

Yes, a longer shock gives you more travel (generally) and flipping the brackets gets your sled higher off the ground. To raise the front end of my sled, I just put our viper trailing arms on which also raised it off the ground.

And spindles!

you can't put in viper front shocks without changing the whole front end can you?

You can do it but it's not easy. Need new upper brackets.

i have a front viper cast section and front shocks for sale to do this with. will take you about 6hrs to do the job.

check my posts for the info

dont bolt the shocks like this, they end up being too long in this position and make the sled too high, tie rods can bind and the sled will handle like crap. you might get away with this with a 44" front end but even then it is not advisable way to bolt a shock in.

I made new upper brackets. Shock top-end will mount inside of hood like in SxR. Riding height is perfect.

There is a picture under working log.

I checked in your working log and didn't see the picture of your bracket, can you post it here?
