Yeh a couple of weeks ago Mordyck Auctions just out side of Winnipeg where listing sleds for auction. There were Ski-doos, Artic Cat and Polaris sleds on the list, but I didn't see any Yamaha's.I wonder if my bud down the road and all his Ski-doo buddies will switch brands. I know he was going to take a look at the Apex's himself.

Hey ain't that the truth. I noticed that also in the buy and sell out here. Especially from dealers trying to dump last year models that haven't sold yet.I see tons of Polaris's and a lot of Doo's that are trying to be sold.Just an odd number of Yamaha's,people may be upgrading to 4-stroke,but seems people are keeping their Yami's longer because they are still in good shape.I for one love my 600.Got 9100 km's on it and it still is ticking.Very reliable sled for sure.Mind you I super maintain my toys to get the most out of them. New sleds are just very expensive now. I am still looking for a 2001 SRX to play with in the future.Maybe a 4-stroke in 5 years time.
can you feel it.It is near.

After reading those nightmares, I think I'll stick with Yamaha.

I'll rebuild mine two or three times before I dump it. Unless Yamaha comes out with a super charged 700 with 160 hp, tipping the scales at 500. Which they will never do IMO.

That link was great, read that last night, really cheered me up, lol
Did anyone else notice how when theyre sleds blew up, or motor totally went "Ventialting the crankcase", it wasnt a big deal, just ho-humm, and then followed up by "runs really strong now". Guess it must be something that just comes with owning a skidoo as its so accepted, and must have alot of $$$ to throw around for rebuilds. Ill stick with my yam and save some dough.

that sounds pretty insane to me i dont see how they can only get in some most cases 3000 on the odometer and not be totally pissed about it all. i would not be happy with that kinda reliability, but i guess that is why ive always rode yammies.

Ya... for me that's almost 2 cranks per year... a little too much trouble for me to deal with.

the truth hursts doesn't it.The price you have to pay to drive yellow, unbeleivable I'd say.I would really be pissed at doo forever after those problems. I would switch to another brand for sure.Who the hell has time to keep takin their sleds in for repairs. They should be reliable for the cash you put out for these sleds.Lets see what happens to the market share now.I owned 2 doos in my past, did not really think they were great machines. Always felt something was going to break on them. It was just the way they felt, switched to Yamaha after that and never looked back.It is different if lets say after 10,000 miles something breaks internally. You can blame that on the age,the way you ride the sled or maybe not maintaining things properly over time, but Yamaha just seems to just keep on ticking.Last season's end I gave my 600 hell. I really wanted to blow up the engine or something, but she wouldn't blow.I pinned it so hard over and over again, did a number of crazy jumps, landing hard and nothing broke. I was AMAZED to tell you the truth.Good product for sure.

warning 1.
Drop it.
the point of this site is to spread yamaha information and to encourage the sport as a whole. not to bash on our competitors.
if we want new customers, we should be recruiting them from non-snowmobilers, not snaking them off each other over petty stuff like this.
