I just bought a 2002 viper with 3600 miles and a bunch of cosmetic add-ons. It did not come with a cover or a manual and I bought it from a dealer that didn't know much about it. It has a newer camoplast predator(?) track. I'd like to be sure all the suspension and other adjustments are to factory spec. If someone can tell me what the shock settings should be and any other adjustments available I would appreciate it. I'm coming from a 91 exciter II (which I'll never sell!!) so if anyone has tips on maintenance, etc. that will help me enjoy my viper for as long as possible I would appreciate that also. Ride comfort and problem free long mileage are my number one priority, I'm sure the factory performance of the triple will do just fine for me so speed upgrades are not necessary.....yet! Thanks for the tips in advance, this is a great site. The dealer thought that it might have had the shock upgrade or re-damping, can anyone tell me how to confirm?

Your manual is provided by Yamaha online here:

The manual has all the stock settings.
Just see your yamaha dealer with your VIN# and they can tell you if the revalve is done. Also see if your hood mod and fuel pump mod are done. Check the exhaust y pipe, and w-arm in the rear suspension for cracks. Do some searches here then ask away...lots of tips for setup on this forum along with many great things on the tech pages check them both out.
