I guess I am going to keep my sled 1 more year to see what Yammi develops next year. I have an 01 SRX with 3500 miles on it. I leave the sled at our house in the UP and don't ever want to mess with it when I go up to ride, oil, gas and a few pumps of grease. That said I will likely put on 1000-1500 miles this year, what kinds of things do I have to worry about? I would rather spend a few extra bucks now on preventative maintenance than have to screw with it when I am up riding.

Obviously the carbs and PV's will be cleaned, chain case oil changed, hyfax checked, everthing greased and will have the shocks rebuilt this year but what else should I be doing?

Do the bearings on the drive shaft need to be changed?
Coolant flushed?
Water pump drive belt?
Clutch parts?
I hope it isn't time for a top end rebuild
What else?

I have never had a sled that will have 5000 miles on it before so I am kind of in the dark here.

Fastest way if you want to make sure everything is done right, bring it to the dealer and ask them to just look over the sled. Tell them that you will clean the carb and power valves, that will take a lot of labor away from the bill!

Ask they just to check over the sled, if you dont want to break down go with that! :winterrul

You can bring it to our shop if you would like, about 30 minutes away and we can go through the entire sled for you. Let me know. Thanks

Just take Belvidere all the way till you hit 41 then take 41 to Northwestern and we are right there!

3500 isnt really a lot of miles.Besides your normal maintenance i wouldnt worry to much about anything else.If your worried about the jackshaft bearing, throw in a new one.The bearing on the chaincase side lasts a long time since its always in oil and the other side is easy to change if you want peace of mind.
