I was wondering if anyone knows if a set of trippl e pipes off a 2000 SRX 700 would fit on a Viper , clearance issues im guessing or would they even help with performance ?

do a search for posts by betheviper I believe he had several good posts walking people thru the process.
they wont just drop in by any means. But it can be made to happen, just depends on how mechanically inclined you are, and how comfortable you are running some fab work.

Thanks guys , I read a few of BETHEVIPERS posts on this subject and came to the conclusion that Viper pipes will be a much cleaner install . i have to give him credit for figuring out all the bugs though . it seems like he stuck with it through the whole process of trial and error . im sure most people would have just said screw that like im gonna ..

I wouldn't say its the cleanest install because of some of the fab work you have to do but it will definately be more dependable and get better mileage than the aftermarket pipe sets on the market, especially with the srx cdi box installed.

to my knowledge there are a total of 3 known srx piped vipers, 1 real one and two kindas.
mine was the original, i later removed the viper engine so i could sell the sled as just a srx engine and pipes(less of a cluster @$!#$@). I then sold the flange extensions to a guy on here who made the rest of the kit himself. His is the only real srx piped viper in existance to my knowledge left.
another guy on the site installed all srx motor, pipes, wiring, and even guages.
the last is my kit i sold a month or so ago, this was installed in a viper with a 98 srx motor, viper wiring, and all the stuff from my sled to finish it off. i dont think he has finished installing it though as i havent been called for questioning yet on any details and there are no pictures yet.
as for my sled, i made it an organ doner.
to do it yourself would take a weekend and a set of pipes, 01 srx cdi box, some welding and building ability. also, a mega power water rail, if you want to use srx heads.
if i was to do another one i would just use the viper head and just machine the domes to 22cc with the bands recut. the viper head works fine. if you use srx heads, you should use the srx base gasket or you will end up with the center cylinder either hot or cold, cant remember what way it went.
if you decide to do it i have a flange that was cut on a plasma table to make the manifold extensions on if you go that way.

I just PM vipertriplexxx today asking about this kind of setup. What would be best a set of Aaen pipes or SRX pipes on the Viper?

We ran Viper cylinders on a 2000 srx. They worked great.

what kind of pipes did you run on your srx with the cylinders
aaen pipes make the least power of the viper pipes, go with slp, the fit good, are quiet. as for what is better, the srx set up of coarse, 12-14mpg, reliable power, verses, 8-11mpg bomb waiting to go off. if you dont mind the work, it is better.

I don't mind the work because it seems installing pipes and clutching is a lot of work anyway (to get it all set-up right)
Yamaha reliabilty is foremost! MPG is a nice bonus, last year I was riding with a Renagade 800, legend 600, F7 and I was the only one that didn't run out of gas on the way back to our trucks.
I'm going to need some help with the set-up will you and vipertriplexxx help?

Nice to hear someone else have the same comments on the SLP pipes. I have the ceramics and couldn't be happier with them.
