I have an 02 Viper, stock except for silencer and ripsaw track.... I'm not sure but I think this sled hooks horribly. I bought it with the track already on it, so I've never tried it with the stock track, so I can't compare, but I find it hooks pretty bad,, no better than my 98 SRX600, which is all stock exept for some clutch work. My question is,,,, should this sled hook okay with this track? it will lift the ski's about 2 inches or so tops,, although it holds em up for a while, but it's spinning a ton. Maybe I can learn to work with the suspension....even with the transfer rods (stock) maxed and the limiter straps let go completely,, it barely lifts the skis and spins like mad....thanks for any advice.......Jeff

Is the track studded.
When you are sitting on the sled there should be a 50/50 gap on the transfer rods. You may want to play with the suspension for better hook up.

Are you looking for ski lift? Get a set of after market transfer rods from Mt. Perf. That will help with if you want ski lift or just want a better hook up. With those transfer rods i would say put a heel clickers clutch kit in it, and your really be able to lift the ski's with a proper set up

the proaction skid just isnt capable of decent transfer compared to the other brands. i would throw some studs in. i ran a studded ripsaw on my viper for a season and it hooked great! it wasnt a ski hanger, but it sure didnt spin.

get a tranfer enhancement kit from mountain perf. crazy dif. if ski lifting is youre thing.

xt700... Mt. Perf says that enchancmet kit is good for a mt. viper or mt. sleds? Does it work for a regular 121 in skid? :dunno:

im running it in my xt 136. like i said if doig lifting the skis is what youre after it works. but the sled is a handfull on the trails. too much transfer and not enough ski pressure. i made some stoppers that bolt to the rails to limit trnfer when im riding trails.the if i want to go play in the fluff or do some wheelies they just unbolt in like 2 minutes. Ill take some picks today and post them for ya.

Had the same problem on my SRX. Alot of my buddies put ripsaw's on their sleds and swore by them so I put an 1 1/4 ripsaw on it (unstudded) and expected a miracle. I found that it was way overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's a good track, for sure better then the stock track, but it wasn't enough for me. I just put on a 1" studded hacksaw on the SRX and put the ripsaw on the SX. Can't wait to test it out.

Thanks xt700, I am looking for ski lift and have on order, mt. perf transfer rods and i have a heel clickers clutch kit, that i am going to have to do some tweaking to during the season. It's got a 1.25" track so hopefully i will be able to lift the ski's up a little bit, it woudln't do it on the lawn ;)!
