The heads on my srx got hot and changed the color of the paint. Does anyone have any suggestions on how or where I can have them painted? I am guessing that they will have to be powder coated but I am not sure. Futhermore, I am wondering what the paint recipe is for them. I know it is not the same as yamaha pearl. That is in the tech pages. Thanks

is it the stock paint on the heads that got discolored? i've never heard of that happening, that must have been pretty hot. but you can try these paints to see. http://www.caswellplating.com/vht/vht_high.htm

it definately can happen with the coating on the stock heads, have seen it several times, usually when someone puts a stud through their heat exchanger and doesn't realize it right away, temp light doesn't go off until its too late because they are designed to pick up temp from a liquid, not a gas.

yep, mine got hot because of a coolant leak that was dripping on my pipes. In about 15 miles all the coolant was gone!!!

Probably be more cost effective just to find one on here or ebay and replace it with that.
