I have a couple SRX's to get ready for the season and was wondering were I should be looking for the wiring harness to be rubbed through. Neither sled has a problem now, but I'd like to take them up at the point of failure. I searched, but couldn't find a good pic or detailed description of where it happens. I know I had seen a good pic on here last year Any help is appreciated!!

Normaly they wear under engine. There is two ties so it's pretty hard to get those out.

I use a rubber hose on all my SRX's. Slit it lengthwise, put it around your wires (after you fix the bare spots), then electrical tape the crap out of it. They are a pain to pull out from under your motor.

Wouldn't it be easier to just pull the motor to access the wires then trying to pull the harness out from underneath the engine. Just wondering b/c I have to fix one pretty soon and want to do it the easiest way. Thanks.

Its not that hard of a job, you just have to release the little alum fold over clamps, unhook harness up by hood hinge, then I tie a string on the harness connector, pull the harness back out from under the recoil area, (BTW-it does make this easier to have the carb rack off and airbox removed), you can then simply repair the harness, wrap each wire individually, then tape all of them, then place the harness in plastic convolute tubing. You can get it at any auto parts store, pull the harness back thru with the string rehook it up and youll never have the problem ever again!

it is that easy. I did mine last season and it took maybe30 minutes.
Removed the air box, carbs but I wanted to clean the carbs anyway.
tied a string to the wiring harness pulled it from under the motor, fixed the wires, pulled the string to get the harness back under the motor plugged it in and done.
