Making the thin headgasket out of the stock one

If anyone is worried about damaging their gaskets when taking them apart or reusing one and having it fail then call or go online to Cometic. They can make you any thickness gasket you need for your sled. They have several material types to choose from. Best thing to do is call them and let them know what you are doing to your sled and why. they will work with you to pick the right materials and thickness. I did the mod to my '99 SX 600 triple five years and about 5,000 miles ago have had no problems. I used the aeromatic material and 0.020" thickness. Cost was $60 which was worth it to me to know that I had new, quality gaskets in place vs. something I had messed around with.
