Well I sold my fiance's 1995 V-max sled and got her a 1997 vmax both w/ estart and reverse.

How will that 1997 suspension ride compared to the 1995? She LOVED her 1995 sled for she pointed it where she wanted it to go.. and it went!

How will the nerer suspenson ride compared to the old one?

You won't get a complaint about how it rides, it will undoubtably be better than the 1995. The stock suspensions on the 1994-1996 Vmax's were terrible, I finally gave up on the stock suspension of my 95 Vmax, took it out, and put a newer Pro-Action rear suspension in from an RX1. Made a world of difference as far as ride comfort. I just like the looks of the 1995 Vmax better than the newer 1997+ models so that's why I swapped suspensions instead of buying a new sled.

The sled will handle fine and still go where she points it, if there is any darting issues they can be solved very easily in most cases with some ski shims.

great! Thanks

well we had USI skis on the old sled and that handled like a dream for her.. SO I think I will swap the skis over to the new sled..

Is this sled lighter than the older style?

Will they be about the same speed? I assume they are same engines...

I believe the new ones are slightly lighter. Engine performance should be fairly equal and I would suspect that the newer Vmax would be slightly quicker as it has clutching updates and exhaust updates that the 95 did not.

Although the 95 came stock with the thin headgasket,..... don't worry about it any difference in performance will be absolutely minimal

I updated the secondary clutch on my old 94 to the 96 style and it did make a big difference. 95 was the first year of the newer style secondary. Was relatively inexpensive to do. I too updated the rear skid to one from a 2000 Venture Pro-Action skid. Now I need to figure out how to raise the front end. There is alot of stuff available for those 97's.
