Is there anything Different Besides the Viper And SRX Cylinders? I mean Physically, not the ports or anything. The shape.
BtW: i had Adpaters Made For the SRX cylinders (Bolt Pattern) to run Viper pipes.. they are about 1 1/4 big... i thought that was making me unsure, so i took them off and Just to see with the cylinder, flang and pipe and STILL....
Just my luck isn't it? *sigh*

they are the same shape, i think the ports are the same also, main difference is the exhaust bolt pattern.

Viper cylinders are set up to run a metal gasket while the SRX cylinder use O-rings gaskets.

Is it possible i can get a Machine shop to cut off the manifold and Tap new holes like the viper cylinder?
Give them the SRX and viper cylinder to show them what im talking about and how much to Cut off.. you get the idea..

You have to watch out for makin new holes cause I know on the Vip cylinders there have blind holes for no room for error to relocate them or make them much larger than the 6mm stud. Why arent you running the Vip cylinders with just the SRX heads?????

I just got these heads in from a buddie of mine. SRX Ported Cylidners and Cut heads. 50/50 Race gas and Pump. Wasn't cheap so i'd like to see what its all about. i was told around 165 with porting Give or take.
Why run Race gas with stock cylinders and pipes?

Pending what you sent you were prolly better off sending your Viper cylinders to MRVIPER for porting and use the SRX heads.Cause when I thought about porting my sled this year I was told Id get 160-165 on pump gas. Would have been alot ezer process than what your goin through and make the same amount of power without the hassle and the extra money of running race gas.

YEs i Could have done that. But i hate on how ppl bring that up on what i shouldA done instead on What i have to do.
I dont know, i just like doing it the hard way? LOL..... Well.. my Engine fried last year(crank and 1 piston) and i got a good deal on some SRX cylinders with porting. So i said hell yeah! Figuring that they would work just like viper cylinders. So i bought them, until a few days ago i had a offering on a 2003 viper motor with everything. so i said man... i can use this with my new topend, so i bought it and now that the topend dont work im pissed off because i just pissed all that money and time down the drain.
i dont know what to do now because i dont want to run Stock VIPER cylinders...

Not to be a dick but when you have 2 diff. machines theres stuff thats gunna be diff and wont just bolt on to your sled. With the guys that know there sh** on this site I'd ask before I buy. And did you ask anyone if they ran this set up and if it proven???? Cause if not you could be just asking to go kaboom again. I'm a realibilty guy if the sh** not proven I'm sure in the hell not gunna run it. Set- up I'll be running on my top end Viper cylinders, SRX Base Gasket, Optic-Cool Head gasket, and Older Style Peak head with PTO dome cut to 24cc and the other 2 cut to 22cc which is lowering the compression so theres a less chances of detnoation with pump gas. Only reason I went wit a aftermarket head is for cooling not HP. Realiable set up= Money saved
Sorry without actually being there its hard to help and give suggestions. Hopefully some of the motor gurus will chim in for ya.

the port timing is different and the power valve angle and valves are different.
If you swap the valves, set up for the different head, and get custom exhaust headers you should be able to switch.

The exh port is longer on a srx cylinder then a viper cylinder, so what this is going to do is lower the rpm range of your pipes, because your basicly adding headpipe area. Your pipes will also need to be cut and refitted as the srx cylinder has a angles exh port as opposed to the vipers straight port flange.
