So I have come to the conclusion that the person that put the track on the Phazer II that I just bought was high or something. Its missing two sets of idler wheels, and there was no bushing to take up the slack on the shock, also the track is not tracking straight at all.

I am concerned about burning the sliders if I dont put at least one set of the idlers back on. This is from another TY member VMAX500 thanks, of what the skid should have on it... I have marked the ones I don't have.

Also I believe the shaft I have is not stock because the holes drilled are no where near the center. I would have a hard time thinking yamaha would put them out like this and dont see where an idler wheel would go on this shaft?

How do I know if the shock is any good. It doesnt rebound like a car shock but I am not sure that it should.. It has resistance in both directions

Lastly to get the track to "track" correctly which way should I turn the adjusters to bring it one way or another? Like if I want to bring the track to the right I would tighten the left adjuster right ? or opposite?

Dont mean to be annoying just want to get this sled ready for the white stuff. :rocks:

The Stock Phazer shocks will not rebound without the spring like some gas shocks. If it has good hold both ways and is not leaking oil you're good to go ! Correct if the track is slid to one side when looking from the rear then, tighten that side 1 turn or loosen the opposite side then run the sled on a stand up to 20-30mph and let it coast to a stop then recheck. Most people Overtighten their tracks which causes hyfax wear and robs power especially, from the little (but Mighty) Phazer. My rule is get it straight and as long as the track is not rubbing the tunnel or slipping/racheting on the drive clogs it's tight enough ! ? ! Pull the front aluminum shaft and the rear shaft (on bottom between rails) out and grease them with a low temp or synethic grease before you're done. BTW. Vmax540 :)
