Hey guys, Found some neat Hobby shop paint and I thought I would give it a whirl on my stock SRX windshield. It is a chrome spray paint that is extremely flexible as it is made for RC cars and lexan appliances. This paint came out 10 times better then I was expecting. It took me 1 full can of spray paint to do this windshield and shipping took forever for the can of paint but it came out great here are lots of pictures of how it came out. I love the contrast of the yamaha sticker and the blue bottom on the windsheild with the chrome. Let me know what you think.

WOW! Where did you get that paint? Did you scuff the inside of the windshield before you painted it? Any details you would share are greatly appreciated.

My windshield was scuffed pretty bad before applied which was stupid of me but it still came out nice. I am going to polish the outside of the windshield to get the scratches out of it. It is Honestly a CHROME finsh when there are no scratches in the windshield. I know for a fact that it is going to hold up because it is RC paint which is EXTREMELY flexible and it will tolerate cold conditions. You can find this on ebay normally and just type into the ebay search "Spaz Stix Chrome" and something should come up. We have actual chrome windshields in stock here and this paint absolutely matches the shinyness. Incredible.

When you scuffed, do you mean the outside or the inside of the windshield. I have heard people say that when you spray the inside a windshield you need to sand it with a scuff pad or the paint won't stick as well or peel. Is this what you did? Sorry for all the questions, but I have wanted a chrome windshield for my MM700 and I don't like the shape of the Cobra and I think they are the only company that makes one for the MM700 single bulb. Thanks.

That scuffing rule only applies to regular spray paint. Because this spray paint is made for this material there is no need to scuff it. I was disappointed in myself because it was scuff on the inside where it didn't have to be. Also, make sure to spray this paint on the inside of the windshield incase you where unsure. You absolutely dont need any scuffing for this to stick.

WOW! That's what I need to know. What do you use to polish and remove the scratches from the outside of the windshield?

I use flitz with a mothers powerball on my cordless drill for my cars headlight lenses. It will bring back the clearness and faded lenses. Should work on a snowmobile windshield also.

I just take it out on one of our buffing wheels and push very gently so I do not melt anything. This causes enough friction to get rid of the scratches. I did the same thing to my headlight cover that was TOTALLY scratched up and it looks brand new now.
WOW, that looks great just like chrome. How much did it cost? Thanks for the information.

I used to be big into R/C car racing and slot car racing, and can vouch for the durability of the lexan paint. The stuff sticks great! The only real prep that is needed is to make sure the surface is CLEAN. Careful of some of the chemical cleaners as they can cause clouding and make the plastic brittle.....hot water and dish soap is all that's needed.

Like I said, it came out way better then I expected too. I am just going to buff the front side of my windshield to get those scratches out and it will look brand new. Just thought I would share this to those of you who are looking for a chrome windshield and don't wanna fork over the extra cash. I love the clash of the blue sticker and blue bottom with the chrome to. The height of the windshield is ideal for me aswell. Love everything about it.

I've got a clear lexan hood. I'd like to see a whole hood "chromed" with that paint, then put some decals on it. I bet it would be sweet!
