what is the tallest stud i can put on my 99 srx 700 with a 1"1/4 ripsaw without causing damage to tunnel or rear heat exchanger? sled is equipped with heat exchanger protectors.

You want to go with the 1.325" or 1.375" studs. I also recommend using a tall nut so the studs don't bend on you.

yep if you want to stud a 1.25" in a srx or any pro-action yamaha you need to change to 8 tooth drivers.otherwise max size is 1" track with 1.175" -1.25" studs.on a 1,25" lug you would want the 1.325" in that sled .

If he is able to get the ripsaw in without hitting the heat exchange protector or without rubbing on them as he sounds like he is, then he will be able to stud the track. Most cannot stud because they do not have enough room under there for the ripsaw to fit. You can run the studs so long as the ripsaw fits well in there without rubbing. Majority will not have the luxury of having that track fit under there.
