I was also looking at my carbs on the air intake side and it looks like its been honed out..are they supposed to be flush with the walls all the way through? Also, once of my carb slides is alittle higher than the others, how do you adjust them?also, the sled has 5,700 miles- bought it w/3900 not sure if anything has been replaced..any help would be great..

Eric

Did you check your piston diameters?
Did you inspect your cyls real good?
I have mine apart. Have to get three new pistons. I was planning on just replacing the rings, but I measured everything up and the pistons were worn below specs. Left to right they were 2.705,2.709,2.710. I think lowest spec is 2.71385.
Probably different specs for a viper.

Eric make sure you check your cylinder walls. I started putting my motor back together and found to chips in the plating on the mag side, after 2000miles of being stock. Just giving ya a heads up to watch out for that.

I looked over my cyls also quickly. They looked good with cross hatching also.
But when I REALLY looked I found a crack between the small and large ports. Have a new cyl now.
Just a thought,

I went back over the cylinders with a bright light and also used my finger nail over the walls and didn't see any chip, scars or cracks. When installing the base gasket/headgasket is it alright to use high-temp gasket spray on both?

Thanks, everything looked good in as far as the cylinder walls go

Holic.
About 9066k is what the speedo read when my cable broke.
I also ran her for about 8-900K after my center pundh broke in the shaft tryin to punch out the broken key.
I would say right around 10,000K.
Funny thing is she still ran great with no problems.

the center and pto are definately not lean, and your mag is about where it should be. The center and especially pto are on the rich side of things, you are plenty safe there.
