Has anyone tried taking out the white plastic air deflector inside the reed cage. It looks very restrictive all though I am sure Yamaha put it there for a reason. I have ported my mm700 and I was thinking it could use an upgrade in the reed department. There is nothing wrong with my stock reeds (8000km)
but I have been looking at replacing them. The Vforce3 reeds sound like they have durability problems but work well when they arent broken. The boysen reeds can be bought as petals $100 or Rad valves $500. then there are other carbon fiber petals availible.
Any advice?

If you want to get rit of the white plastic deflector run the phazer boots the deflector is built into the boot and will give you more flow.Rember more flow = more fuel. You may get a lean bog.
