Is There A Big Difference Between The Years On These Machines As Far As Power Goes? What Are Your Guys Experiences. Are They All The Same Clutches? What Could The Differences Be? Thanks In Advance For Your Replies.

I guess the 01-02's have something like 5 horsepower more than the 98-00

The 00-02s are about 6 horse more than the 98-99s because of more aggressive porting and head dimensions. The clutches are the same betweenall these machines, but the internals are different. The 00-02s have the best clutching in stock form, but they can all be made to be good very easily with a few parts. The '00 and up have the stronger magneto with the MUCH better dual bulb headlight, '01 has a lighter brake rotor. 00 and up have different suspension settings for more weight transfer, which helps a lot. '01 and up have dual hand and thumb warmer controls. 02 has dcs detonation control. Really can't go wrong with any of them, but the 00 and up definately have a few big changes that really make them a step ahead, but all of them are rockets.

I thought 00 and up also had a lighter flywheel.
