and I have a stock 96 600XT pipe and I think I heard someone say that they were the same?? So if someone could let me know cause I am kinda interested cause I need more noise out of my sled.

YOUR GONNA GET BLASTED AGAIN ON THE "NOISE COMMENT" I saw earlier post mentioning same thing - you a glutton for punishment :dunno: .

Everything I have read is to stick with 96 XT stock pipe, supposedly was the Yamaha "Upgrade" and nothing I have read has mentioned ANY improvement in performance going to an aftermarket pipe.
