Looking through the new machine again and noticed I have one stud that pulled through. Didn't really tear the track that much, just a small tear on one side of the original hole.
Question is, should I install a new stud in the same hole? As the tear is really small the backer and washer will cover it entirely.
Should I install a replacement stud in a new location on the same track section?
It's got 96 studs now and I've ordered another 48. This should help prevent more pull throughs right?
Any comments welcome, thanks.

I don't think that more studs will prevent pull through. A lot depends on the age and condition of the track and what conditions you ride in. If it's a yoko track with a lot of miles, I wouldn't replace that rip with a new stud. I had a rip through last season and decided to replace the track (3300 miles on yoko).

Actually, installing more studs will help with ones tearing through. More studs means less pressure on each stud. One of the biggest problems with pulling through studs is under-studding a track. Having said that, I would not put a stud back in that location as it will just tear out again. You could check with Carroll Tech as they repair snowmobile tracks. I believe the website is www.carrolltech.com.
