I have added new quick adjust transfer rods and now I am struggling to get any sort of gap (when seated on sled with full tank) on the bottom side. Any help and it calls for 5/15 to 1/4 good starting point. What other adjustments besides the rods control this gap?

the rear spring preload is what controls that gap, the center preload also has some (but less) effect on the gap. Shoot for a 50/50 gap on both sides of the control rod slider housing.

So is there too much load on the spring or not enough?

If you look at it you can see that as the suspension compresses, the top gap closes and the bottom one opens, so if you loosen the preloads it will allow the suspension to "set in" a little more and you will gain some bottom gap and lose some top gap.
