IM thinking of gettin ga 4x4 bender single pipe, or cutting open a stock pipe and removeing the resinator and baffles.
I would be running a stock can with it.
Would I get any gains or is this ussless, I have done a search and didnt really find the answers i was looking for.
thanks Jay

i dont think you would gain any thing by gutting the stock pipe, most likley you will loose power, the engine need some pressure from the pipe back to the engine, if you take it away it will not work as good as desigen from the faktory, everything is well calculated from the enineers at the factory..
better buy a pipe desiged for you sled!!

like powerpack said, better to get a pipe designed for the viper. i have a bender 4x4 on my viper and i love it. saves alot of weight and gives probably a couple of hp midrange. gives it a meaner sound too but i also have the bender canister. here is a pic of my setup.

When Bender first made the 4x4 pipe, I spoke with terry about it. He said that removing the baffle in the stock pipe was basically all they did to get the 4hp and 4lbs of torque in there pipe.

yeah, thats what i thought, Im gona look for another pipe to mess with, as long as i keep the stock can for backpressure Im sure it would work. I would rather use the stock pipe sense it will apear legal
