I just bought a '01 SRX700 last winter and i was wondering what are some pre-season things i should check, (the sled has 6700 miles). It ran fine last winter but i was wondering what i should check on a high mile sled. thanks for any replies.

Engine- clean and inspect the powervalaves, replace the piston rings.

chassis- driveshaft bearing on speedo side will need attention, suspension bushings, shocks will be due for a oilchange and recharge, front shocks the same, front radius rod bushings will need checked for sloppiness, open up chaincase cover and inspect chain and sprockets, change lube.

I just bring my sled to the dealer to get serviced before the start of every winter, I'v done this with every machine I've owned and I have never had a problem....if gives me piece of mind knowing that everything is done correctly....

do you know what they do everytime? and how much does it cost ya?

This usually cost around $100, they grease everything, clean the carbs and powervalves, change the chaincase oil, and basically go over the entire sled with a fine tooth comb.....its worth every cent of $100

Wow you have a great dealer, I was quoted $350.00 just to clean and sync my carbs, and about $300.00 to clean and adjust my powervalves, imagine the bill after going through the sled with a fine tooth comb.
