I have a problem with my brake lamps on my '02 Viper. The lamps work fine except that I must squeeze extra hard before they illuminate. When I am just light on them they won't light. Kinda of dangerous I think. Where do I begin to look for the problem. Is the sensor for the lamps in the brake lever, back in the lamp housing, or by the caliper and disc itself? Any advice would be apprieciated. Thanks!

If the Viper is like a 2001 mm700 then the switch is located on the bar just under the lever. I broke a little locating tab off mine last year, and now it can rotate causing the light to come on at different lever positions. Some times it doesnt come on and some times it stays on all the time.
It is on my list of things to do before first ride.

I had the same problem, search under my name for reccomendations on how to fix, however I tried the adjustments and I never got mine to work well unless I was really on the brakes, light taps it would never light up.

I found the switch underneath the brake lever. took it apart and cleaned the contacts. put some dielectric grease on it and put it back together. Works like new! Thanks for the help.
