Question:

I recently purchased a 1991 Phazer II which was setup to run in the mountains of Colorado; extended tunnel to 136", 1.5 camoplast paddle.

I also found an Aaen exhaust temp gauge wired to the windshielf fairing. It was connected to the exhasut pipe via a 1/8" diameter temp sensor, hole was drilled into stock exhaust pipe and temp gauge inserted.

Aside from just monitoring exhaust temp, what other functions, if any, would this serve?

I am a flatlander and have never ridden in the mountains.

Thanks.

Oh, and I need confirmation on this too; I can't run the pipe without wleding a plug over the hole, correct?

Thanks.

It would not serve any other purpose, and if you are removing it, yes you need to plug the hole. You may also be able to tap it and install a bolt depending on the type of fitting used.
