Hey, just wondering if anyone has had a problem with one cylinder (pto side) not warming up enough. My EGT guage is reading a lot lower on that cylinder while the others are reading good. Maybe I should be running hotter plugs, or maybe less fuel??? I'm not sure. I can't remember if more fuel cools it down or heats it up. I guess the leaner it is, the hotter it runs. Is that correct? Any help appreciated. I'm running BPR9ES. Could I go hotter with the plug?

Less fuel = hotter EGT
don't go to lean, there is a fine line between great and disaster

what sled are you taking about and what is your current jetting? how much difference are you talking about in you egt's . are you reading them at wot or idle? need more info.
Don't forget that the probe and/or gauge could have a problem also, so try not to do anything crazy. Read your plugs for confirmation of what your gauge is telling you. Then make one change at a time.

comfirm your gauges by switching the probes. Probably still going to be cold. seca is asking you a question, when are you reading this, at idle? If at idle it's probably your fuel screws.

it's a 2002 Viper with a 2001 SRX engine in it. No, its not at idle, just at 1/4 throttle to wot. When I went over a big jump to wheelie, the engine would crap a little when I pinned it and then itd be fine on flat ground. At wide open the guages are almost are the same. It was really powdery snow coming over the hood, and it was acting like when the carbs freeze up and I don't have any covers on the air induction vents. There was lots of snow covering the airbox filter when I opened the hood. I guess I shoulda tried the carb heaters.

Never mind guys. It was the carbs freezing up. I put the carb heaters on and wham, revving to nine grand again.
