I got the skid out and the shocks are being revalved, but is there any other maintenance that should be done while it is out, new bearings/bushings or just a good cleaning and greasing. The sled was very well maintained by the guy I bought it from he greased it evertime he got back from a ride.

I'd recommend getting a bushing kit and go through the whole thing. You'll be surprised how bad some of those plastic bushings are worn. Check all the wheel bearings too. I did my V-Max last season, and I am doing my wifes Phazer right now.

Call Bruce at Pioneer performance and get his rear suspension bushing kit, WAY cheaper than getting each individual bushing from yamaha. Just put two of these kits in last week, and then shimmed all of them tight. The bushings i took out were COMPLETELY JUNK. If you have any sort of miles on yours, they will be very similar.

yup, $60 for the ones for the aluminum bodied rebuildable shocks. WAY cheaper than buying the individual bushings from yamaha, in which you will be around $200 bucks.

Marshall Distributing sells the rear suspension bushing kits for about $35 bucks. My Yami dealer stocks these.

They only sell through dealers, though.

Are they as good as the oem bushings? I have found that alot of the time aftermarket bushings are much lower quality than oem.

Also, change the speedometer bearing while you're in there.

They appear to be of similar quality and materials as the OEM bushings. Time will tell, next time I pull the skids for inspection. I have these bushing kits installed in both sleds, 04 Warrior and 01 Venture

Doing the same on my MM right now. Haven't pulled apart a skid yet that didn't have worn bushings...
