Talked to my mechanic friend down the road from me,he and his buds all ride Doo's. His friend says he had no problem beating the Apex with his 2006 Mach Z 1000.I know there is some 20 HP difference there. But last year he blew up his engine on the Z on Lake Winnipeg, warranty was over on it and apparently he is fighting with the dealer on the repair bill of $5000 to $7000. Anyways he went and got the 2007 Mach Z with a 2 year warranty this time. This guy is insane. He always rides pinned all the way. Had about 6 accidents already with many broken bones. But he loves his speed. So there is no way then that an Apex can touch the Mach Z 1000 unless turbo-charged right. But then you are putting out so much money for that, that it really isn't worth it just to beat someone off the line.I base the races on stock machines. Yamaha should come out with a little more HP for the Apex, but at the same time keep price consistent with other manufactures. What I am being told is the MachZ1000 is the fastest out there now. What about a well tuned SRX,would it give the MachZ a run for money? ;)!

Yes i agree yammie needs to step the HP up on the apex.at least 10-15 ponies.

seems like were always lacking in hp alittle..:(

It's a toss up between them. There is some god running mach's out of the crate and there is alot that don't run so great. It's back and forth who wins this out of the crate sleds stock everything. If you run into one of the good mach's there's no way your going to beat it stock.

Ditto! The good running mach's are pretty much impossible with anything stock.

with hauck race pipes you're gonna need a race CDI aswell. Depends on the porting of the motor really. With the right set-up you'll run with a stock one ya. But it wont be easy.

if you wanna do that tho I think SXViper32 was selling a hauck top gun bigbore that was new in box for a fair bit less than that. I know he was asking around about porting too.
