Thinking about picking up an '02 Viper, w/144" rail extensions, 2" track, SLP trp. pipes, MMP intake, & 6" bar risers. Dealer is asking $4999, any opinions?
I used to ride a '98 MM w/ bender silencer & 2.25" finger track, loved the sled but had to sell. Now I've got an '06 Attak but miss the steep & deep.

$4000 is all I'd give for it, me and jr_amsoil are both South Dakota boys though. Prices seem to be lower down here than most places. I would suppose it's worth a little more up there but $5K is too much regardless IMO.
My opinion is that NPS is very proud of their used sleds considering the amount of snow we have on the ground.bashley said:Thinking about picking up an '02 Viper, w/144" rail extensions, 2" track, SLP trp. pipes, MMP intake, & 6" bar risers. Dealer is asking $4999, any opinions?
Beyond that I gave 4800 2years ago (private party) for a triple piped mtn viper with some other goodies on it with about 1600 miles on it. Apparently its worth more now than when I bought it.

I see you know the dealer I'm refering to. Have you seen the sled? I know the boys at NPS pretty well and have always bought my stuff from them so I'm sure they'll work me a decent deal. I'm just not too familiar with the Viper models. I'd probably feel better if it were a true Viper Mtn., not a 121" converted.

I too believe the price is high. I was always told that no matter the accessories, it is only worth what it was as stock. Unless you can find the right buyer willing to pay for the extras. My .02 XC

No I haven't seen the sled and I think they are probably the best local stealership for sleds, but that seems damn steep. If they'll work a deal then could be worth it but at that price you have to consider the 2 02 shorties that were in the paper for 2 a piece a couple weeks ago and build your own.
If you look at it make sure the rear cooler has been added to that sled since it started out as a shorty.
IMHO the viper just ain't the best mountain sled around, they ain't light and sit down trail sled ergos do not a great mountain sled make. I can say that cause I have one. I saw that someones got a 800 billet UBR 144 RMK at on the board at sentry in your price range.
All just my opinions and worth very little.

I talked to the guy who has the '02 shortys in the paper and they've got 500 mi. each and he's selling to build a house. By the time I do all the upgrades I'll probably be into it for about the same, but at least I can know exactly what and how it was done. I'll check that RMK out too. I'm not really hard up to buy one right know but if the right deal came up I wouldn't turn it down.
