On my 98 srx600 the head clearances are: pto is.068,center is.067and mag is.070. Any one have a suggestion for an amount to shave off?

.012 is good quess from here
I did 15 thou on my 98 600 srx but make sure u allways run good fuel. 10 thou would leave more margin for safety.

WHAT COULD i EXPECT FOR HP GAIN W/15THOU OR WILLIT BE JUST A CRISPER THROTTLE RESPONSE?

id go around 15. u don't wanna bring it to any more then .050 clearance. after that u have to run higher then premium and have to re-camber the squish zone. u could go all the way up to .017 if u wanted but id give ur self a few tho to play with in case the machinist messes up. happen to my brother when all was done he has .0495 clearance after the second shave. its a big difference id say around 8-12 hp on the non power valve motors not completely sure on the powervaled motors
