Just mounted a 136"x 1 1/4" 9834 Camoplast in a '00 Vmax 700 and found that it hits the tunnel and front heat exchanger protectors. I don't have studs. Should I notch the brand new track or remove the protectors. I could remove the tunnel protectors, trim and reinstall but would it be worth it? Think I will have to remove the heat exchanger protectors, what a pain that will be.
I am kinda ticked since the place I got it from and other sources said it wouldn't be an issue.
I wondered why the skid install was a little tough but it became painfully obvious when I can't even pull the track around by hand due to the interference.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Cut them out. I Had to do it on my last 2. there is really no other option other than 8 tooth drivers or letting your brand new track "wear" around the protectors

If you don't have studs take the protectors off.Better than cutting a new track.
Best one yet, just let it rub, it will form itself in about 100 miles. That way you have the option to still stud in the future. Maxdlx
