i have always herd good things about these sleds.but i think i would check into a rebuild with that many miles.i would assum normal wear & tear on it but.but if it is a good deal then i would say go for it.

for a srx out here 10k is pretty low mileage lol...my 700 srx has 14k and still going strong.. but whats the difference in performance between a 600 and 700 srx? i heard there was like a 15hp difference?
yes its about 15 hp difference, but still the 600 is a very fast sled, never had any problems with the one i had.. smoked a lot of bigger ccm sleds as the mxz 800, egde 800 stock sleds, my 600 had 21-40 gearing and some clutching! sweet sled

will a 700 srx beat it? or is the 600 lighter and pull ahead of the 700
well i would take a stock 700 from the start to about 2000 feet then he would catch me.. a clutched and geared 700 will be way faster..

I have a 99 SRX 600. Great sled. Only issues i've had so far were a blown CDI and stator last season. The stator was from the 00+ hood/headlight that the kid who owned it before me had on the sled.
It's crazy fast, it'll outrun my buddy's piped xc700.

600 srx won,t beat a 700. I owned 2 600 srx,s & 2 700 srx,s. 700 has way more torque. 600 works fine with good clutching. if it is a 98 make sure it had the crank update done. I did blow a stator in my 99 600 srx.

Yes, make sure you have the Crank redone!
Sense I owned my SRX, this is what I have replaced:
1. New Engine...found out the balancing lobe cranked.
2. Replaced W-Arm
3. Replaced Track-CB Performance
4. Studs
5. Tunnel Protectors
6, 2 rightside trailering Arms
7. primary clutch-cracked from Heel-clicker
8. New Power valve cables
9. New windshield
10 Rear shock
11.rear backets for rails
12. limiter straps
Other then that, thats it...some of this was basic maintence but the Sled is fast!!!

My 98 SRX 600 could almost keep up with a stock 02 xc 700 sp from one end of a lake to the other. A well set up 03(?)xc 700 Edge would destroy me all the time.
Honestly, I never had a problem with my sled. And I never found out if the crank update was done, but I'm pretty sure it did. Bought it used. Great sled.

I bought a 99 srx 600 and have owned it for a year. I have had very few problems. I have found that it is pretty fast and is good on gas. I have never had it break down on the trail. Mine is clutched and gears have been changed which helps my try to keep up to my buddies apex.
