I thought I heard somewhere that the srx base gaskets provide better cooling. Just wondering can I use an srx gasket on my 2000 sxr? will it fit? and will it help at all?

no, wont fit. SRX gaskets give better cooling than viper gaskets, SXr's aren't exactly known for cooling problems tho.
