Are the Viper and the SRX Rear heat protectors the same?

Are the Viper rear heat exchanger prtectors the same as the SRX? I thought I read that they were?

Can you use a SRX protector on a viper exchanger?

Does anyone have some for sale?

they are the same other than the location of the bleed screw, and yes they can be interchanged, just have to drill a small hole to get access to the bleed screw.

Will SRX rear protectors fit over the viper rear exchanger? It seems that they would be longer but work?

I've treid to order a set of rear heat exchanger protecters for my 99 srx from my local yamaha dealer and royal dist. And they are discontinued, the dealer also said that i did not really need them? Is that true?

i know on the short travel srx you do,maybe not an issue on the viper due to the 11.5" rear suspension. what size studs are you going to run?

I have a shaved track with 144 1" ice picks that i will run for a couple of weeks and a 1" predator with 1.175" carbide studs. Any idea where I can get some protectors or maybe how too make some?
