i see in turks clutching page that he has used both for lake/trail. right now i do not have the cash to buy new 8dn-20's seeing its this close to christmas. so, how are the 89a-10's? i have a WWW primary, green secondary and a advent-edge 48/42 helix. I am not into lake racing ,but i love to smoke my friends on the pond. 80% trail rider. hows the back shift with the 89a-10's? also i thought that the helix had the most effect on upshift/backshift?

89a10 weights will not give the top speed you can get from 8dn00/10/20 they will work very good at trail speeds and accelerate very good.

the curve of the weight, position of the weight, amount, spring tension, roller size, helix angle, twist, and side preasure, all effect shift speed in both directions.

thanks betheviper, just the info i was looking for. i hear the same thing about the 8bu-00's (what i am running now) yet i can still get close to 200kph on a long lake!!

hey Betheviper, hows this sound for aggressive trail?89a-10 (47.5g) wiyh 4.5 inner-2.4 outer(total 54.4)48/42 advantage helix, green yamaha secondary spring and all white primary spring(i think it may be Maxx perf.)?btw-this is for a 99 SRX700.

89a-10 work well for lake racing but backshift sux. 89L,s are totallly wrong for a SRX.
