Last year the temp light on the dash would flash while driving. After we stopped for a while it would be fine. Any ideas what to check. Drove it all winter like that.

Well that means it over heating... when you stop it had time to cool down. If i were you i wouldnt be driving to long and far with it flashing... it is doing it job by warning you its to hot.
Does your viper have the rear heat exchanger?... that would help a lot in all conditions on running a little cooler.

Temp light doesn't flash
The warning light will flash but the temp light will not flash. Did you look closely to see which little tiny image was showing then your warning light was flashing? I'd be willing to bet it's not the temp image. Next time it does it look for the image and if it's not temp try shutting off your hand and thumb warmers and see if it quits. If so, your grips are starting to short out. This happend to me on two vipers.

The diagnostic (flash) sequences are posted in the Tech Pages. Why guess, when the computer will actually tell you where the problem has been encountered?
