About 1 yr. ago someone on here said they put a stock Viper exhaust on a 700 SX for more horsepower. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it a direct fit or does a different hole need to be put in the belly pan for the stock Viper can?

it is not a direct bolt in...you would need to cut and weld a flange. Jetting has to be changed as well.
The only one I remember the motor blew up...not saying the pipe had anything to do with it.

Would there be any power gains?

i don't know if that really works because the two motors are totally different. just like the tripple pipes for powervalve and non-powervalves are not interchangeable, i don't think this would be either.

If I can remember right, it was only 2-4 horsepower that the pipe gained. Not worth the aggravation in my opinion.

Better off boring your muffler, will give the same gain.
