Hello guys
Im working on my first yamaha and so far Im pretty impressed. Ive started with a 98 srx 700 bought it cheap with a broken crank got a good deal on a crank and started from there. got a deal on some reeds vforce 3 and aaen pipes. nother friend has some 35.5 mm carbs that im gonna run. also I put in a 151 rail kit kit from mpi with a transfer kit and 17 degree attack angle. I live in alberta and travel to bc to ride and I need alittle idea on which ways to go. I dont know what kinda rpms and shift points I should have. I bought a team roller secondary with a red black spring and I think a 47 helix have a unlimited source of yamaha parts( work at a dealer) so primary stuff is easy to come by. just wondering what other ppl have run thats given them good results and bad results so that I dont really have the trials. My biggest thing is that I run with guys with either ported 700 vipers 944 union bay motors or turboed rx1s. i dont expect to beat these guys but I dont want to be at the bottom of the hill when there out there having all the fun. okay let me know.

Ditch the AAEN's IMHO, also a D&R makes a huge difference. You won't get to 17* AOA with any rail relocation or anything. Get yourself a xtralite or SC-10 skid you will save alot of lbs. Supposidly the 98's and 99's run at 8300 but I prefered mine at 8500 like the 00's and up. A must do is stiffen the steering post as well. There is way too much to list but do a search on mountain sleds and you will find alot of info...............SRXtreme
