how to make a 89 inviter stop buring plugs

I have a yamaha 89 inviter. it has been a good little sled but if you let it sit it burns plugs. #$%&*
if any body has in put let me know.

My Dad has an 88 inviter. he got it it 1992 and we have the same problem. it doesn't really seem to foul them - but burn them out. I have tried many times to clean them many different ways but it don't help.

we have tried everything. different heat ranges, surface gap plugs, different plug caps, different coils, but nothing has ever made a difference.
The local Yamaha dealer says All inviters were notorius for this and they didn't even have any ideas to fix the problem.
All we can do is carry a case of plugs in the trunk and change them daily!

My mother bought a brand new 88 Inviter and after taking it back to the Yamaha dealer for the third time with a Melted water pump Impeller she decide to traded it in on a Phazer! (good move) The dealer had no clue ? The guy who bought it from the dealer had the same problem !
 
Ive got an 88 invitor, The reason the impellar melts is do to the head gasket,the gaskets are noted to blow , so if you get the hot light, its no doubt your head gasket..dont drive it even if it coolsdown ..it will eat the impellar! If you pull the head ,you have to put new gasket, No way to reuse it,and to fix water pump impellar problems ,you have to pull the head!! No way around it! Them one lungers are a finicky motor, As far as the burn up plug thing,,,,,I dont know..never heard of that problem...try a br9eya....by the way does anyone know where to get waterpump parts for the invitor? They have been discontinued..
 
I have a 88 inviter I bought it from a friend that used it to go to the fishhouse and back. For the first 500 miles that I put on the sled it would fouled a plug every 10 to 15 miles. I have learned that the inviters will foul plugs STEADY if you over choke them. Furthermore, if you don't warm the snowmobile up really good before shutting it off, it will foul plugs. But at the same time, it is not a good idea to let it idle for more then a short time(30 seconds). It has been a good 2500 miles since I first bought it, and now after running like i described above, it only fouls a couple plugs a season!!!!!! I understand your frustration I have spent more money on plugs then I ever did to buy the thing.
