Hi all, new member and I am totally impressed with this site, great bunch of sledders!.Just looking for opinions. Since my 04 venom is still under factory warranty untill end of feb 07 (new-non-current) , and it's supposed to rev 8500 rpm as spec'd by yamaha, but like most of them, it overrevs terribly, 9200 rpm! Do you think it fair to ask for the parts to correct the problem? Throwing it out there.
Thanks,
Helix

I pmed you. $8 worth of rivets to fix. They actually should come good cus my dealer did on those 600 triples.

unless they clutched it for elevation there is no way they will replace under warranty, that could be due to wear in the clutch parts, why wasnt it brought up until now?? if you told them when the sled was new i would say they would have done it, but now?? if turk told you a set up USE IT the man is a clutching guru for the yamahas.

My dealer fixed mine on my 02 VMax and covered it in warranty. They also changed jetting in my Viper and covered it under warranty. They have replaced one drive belt under warranty. I think a lot depends on you dealer. Mine has been very good about trying to warranty parts for me.

I only got it the end of Feb 06 went on a week ride and that was about it for snow have 1400 miles on it.I am bringing it back to the dealer to get the 12v accessory wired properly that they installed,(cig type), it's cutting out my gauges and will back feed and cause a buzz in the pick up coils or something if I have my visor plugged and turn off the sled with the kill switch. I asked about them installing the rivets turk suggested and they sounded receptive to the idea.
Thanks

tell them to do it... You should of heard the Service manager at the localer dealer when I asked them to put a aftermarket helix and spring in my Viper... big speal... stock is best... then when it wouldn`t work right... they blamed it on the clutch kit.. turns out they forgot to tighten up the PTO power vavle and it had top end as a result. Tell them to do it...
