I have been reading many post dealing with the cleaning of the valves. However I have not heard anyone mention how they cleaned the ports in the engine, only the cleaning of valves. Do you guys clean the ports or just the valves? If you are cleaning the ports what are you using and a brief description of the procedure would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Ed

steal someones toothbrush out of the house (don't them see it again tho) and that seems to work good for me. use some dishsoap and go at it for a bit and they clean up ok.

Anal about this

What I do is not always the right way but it works...I pack a little tissue inside the port till it touches the cylinder(s) and then start cleaning with Q-tips dipped in carb cleaner or oven cleaner...any excess is picked up from the tissue and not running into the engine...hope this helps...

good point. i was thinking of when i pulled the jugs, and thats when i used the toothbrush. i've never cleaned them with the jugs on.
