Just a question to you knowledgable yamaha guys - I have a bunch of brand new pistons that came out of a dealership that closed. I have no idea what they fit but they do have part#s. Does any one know of a website where I can cross ref them backwards to see what they are for?
Thanks

kinda, you can find the general area they belong to by the letter prefix in the part number, for instance 8m6 is a 1981 srx440(do you have any of these by chance???) maybe if you list a prefix list we could possibly help you find out what all you have there.

even older I think!
The part #s I have don't seem to have that prefix - I'll list what I have though....
889-11635-00
807-11631-00 96
820-11631-02 98
858-11631-00 46
864-11631-00-96 ( just noticed part of a label that lists a sno*jet part # of 811416)
Maybe these are all for Sno*Jet? but they are all in marked Yamaha boxes..
Any Ideas?

pretty positive they are yamaha pistons
OZ
yes but...
I might suggest you go to http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx and look up early 70's crankcase and piston, might be a bit hit and miss but they are definetly Yamaha part numbers.

Sno-Jet's used Yamaha engines, so they will likely fit them and Yamaha's.
As Mr Viper stated, the first 3 digits are the model number, maybe someone here can help you with a list. Otherwise you could try a dealer or Yamaha customer service - and good luck!
The price book lists the 11631 as standard sized and the 11635 as .25 mm oversize.
