I bought one of these for my srx so I don't have to remove the clutch all the time to remove the weights. I am running heel clickers with the red spring. I cannot seem to get the clutch to open very far at all. Also where does the clamp that holds the sheeve open go? Is a red heel clicker spring to stiff for this tool? Thanks

i think the springs in the heel clickers are way to stiff for a clutch hold tool. it takes all my weight to compress it to get the cover on and im not a small man.

I am installing the same spring this evening. I went to the hardware store. I got a 1 foot piece of threaded rod. 3/8 I think. 2 pretty thick washers and 3 nuts. I am planning on using the 2 nuts on the bottom of the clutch locked together and crank down on the top. I was thinking about covering the thresads with tape or some thing so that there is no chance of scratching the bushings.

Is this a bad or good idea? I came up with this one on my own so it kinda scares me.
