On a 80 SRX, it came with butterfly carbs. On a fresh motor with stock porting and stock pipes would I see any major performance gains going with roundslide powerjets off a 79? Or am I wasting money? Thanks.
they are a heck of alot easier to tune, you dont have alot of adjustment with the butterfly carbs.

a roundslide carb allows you to completely open the venturi at wot. in a butterfly carb, the cross shaft, butterly and the screws attaching the butterfly to the shaft remain in the venturi. when we raced go carts, we used grind the heads of the screws down as far as possible and then align the slot with the air flow to increase horsepower as well as maching the shaft flat on one side, but you were talking about taking a 5 horse motor to around 8.5 horse, so every little bit.
