I have a good running 700 SX 1997. I also have a blown 600 XT 1997. Does anyone know if the XT's 11 inch travel suspension can be bolted into the SX without modification? If modification is necessary, what needs to be done?
Trying to make one good old sled out of two. Thanks

it will bolt right in but you are going to have to long travel the front to get it to ride correctly

If you set the rear up with correct set-in and run your front springs for a little more ride height the front is fine with a long travel rear. But a long travel front is nice too if you can find some sxr or viper shocks.
just install the motor in the xt, way easier than swaping all the front end, rods, arms shocks, skid, sway bar.

Ya I second the swap the motor suggestion. Be a real sleeper having the 600 hood with a 700 "inside".
About the same amount of work involved. I guess what would make or break my decision would be the condition of the hardware on the front end. Got any rust/corrosion?

Thanks everyone for the advise and guidance. I will probably make the suspension swap, including the front end hardware. The SX is in better shape body and tunnel wise. But the sleeper concept would be kinda cool. These forums are great. Thanks again.
