I was in Sanford ME on Wed. at the Yam Dealer and found out about this ride these guy's are going to attempt on a couple of 4 stroke Yami's. This should be a good one to keep track of.

Question:
If you're in Alaska (BIG snow country) with a sweet sled....
Why the hell would you want to head for Sanford Maine ????????
:)
JK - Good Luck on the trip !!!!

I wouldn't want to be on that trip. That would be hell after a couple thousand miles. Anyone know a website to follow this?

No Hooters or tity bars in that part of Alaska LOL

I actually think that would be a really fun trip. I'm always all about the miles when i ride. If the trails are smooth i want a lot of miles or i dont feel satisfied.

they better put wheels on those sleds because if it's anything like last year and at this time it's worse, those last couple hundred miles are gonna be tough. last year even in millinocket where i usally trailer to was bare most of the year. :o|

I actually ran into these guys today just south of Eveleth MN. I was returning home from working in Duluth today and saw two yamaha's on the trail by a parking lot and one was on it's side, so I stopped to see if they needed anything - turns out it was the two guys on this 6,000 mile trip. They were waiting for the local fastenal shop to bring them some nuts and bolts - Steve's Expert X suspension had a broken bolt and was missing a bushing. They shipped the snowmobiles to Alaska and then left from there - sounds like they are from Maine - they are heading south to Duluth and then across Wisconsin and the UP and then back into Canada - they had to detour south due to some trails being closed up close to the MInnesota Cdn border between Kenora and Thunderbay. I mentioned I had read about them on TY and they were appreciative of the offer for help.

My wife said I was nuts because I thought about this three years ago to travel from one edge of US. to the other I guess she doesn't know what she's talking about Because I never did it and these guys are. I wish these guys would of asked me to come with them because even if I made it half way The thoughts and feelings from the start of that trip for me would have been enough. My wife is right I'm nuts!!!!
