I wonder if someone has some specs on those machines.

I'm writing on wikipedia and are looking for specs for the SR models. HP @ rpm and so on.

Please answer me some cool fellow!

The year is 1973 (SR643B) and I also want the figures about the SR643 from 1975 which I belive was less hp thant the 1973 model?

1971 SR433 45HP Approx. 125 built (Factory Team sleds with full mod motors and pipes with Alcohol Injection 80-85HP?) 280LBS
1972 SR433b 55Hp
1972 SR643 90HP (Best guess)
1973 SR292 50HP
1973 SR433c 70HP (Best Guess)
1973 SR643B 105HP
Sorry,no SR's built after 1973(AT least in North America)
More to come

@94max

Good work, but there are some SR built and sold after -73 in N.A. Look at the parts list at yamaha-motor.com

1975 there was an SR643 and a SR292 and in 1978 there was a SR433B. What puzzeling me is that the first SR643 seems so much more powerful than the later. I meen the 73 vs 75.

The factory HP and RPM on a race sled is alot like it's done today. If you bought a factory race sled they ship you the sled asap so you can test & prep. Then updates are sent to you as the seasons goes on.

So take a 73 SR, yamaha ships them with X hp. Then may send out a factory GYT kit...more updates, cut pipes...then by mid season your up to X hp and rpm. Then you also have "who" (what team) gets what update.

The yamaha website is all screwed up for year wise. They made the following:

71' SR 433
72' SR 433B
72' SR 643
73' SR 292
73' SR 433C
73' SR 643B

73 was the last year of the SR's

74 they had the 74 SRX
I hope this helps you...

@Tim*ster, what yamaha website are you looking at? givet it to me. :)

@toydoc, see that you have an SSR on youre pic. Please could you give me some fact about that one?

@Tim*ster, I wonder about the models. The classical Yamaha serials are. 643, 643A, 643B and so on. Where did the A models go?

that info is common Knoledge if your a yamaha guy there is no website obviously your not if you thought there was a 75 sr 643 just from the screwed up yamaha parts site. should you really be writing the history of one of the greatest yamaha racers when you know nothing about them.

I come on this kind of stupid. What I need are:

*Yamaha Vintage Sites
*History of Yamaha Snowmobiles (type of machine, bit of story about it)
*And so much more!

What is my purpouse? I trying to write articles on wikipedia about each of the series of the Yamaha snowmobiles. Thats why.

So when a eleven years old kid in 2012 buys his new Phazer can look it up in the history book. That why.

@Arhood, you got me there. Thats why I'm here so I can get the facts right. I dont belive that I know it all. But I surly want to know it all!
