Hi guys!
My brother in law just purchased a 1999 Mountain Max 700, well, he got the sled home but he hasn`t payed it yet because he wanted me to check it out because the seller seemed somewhat wierd.
However, I just took a little look at the sled and I found a few things:
1. The belt ride height in the seconardy seems to low, it`s 5mm or so. Is this correct?.
I looked behind the secondary and saw that the three wear screws were replaced with normal 6mm screws. So I removed the secondary and took out one screw, I measured it to 19.6mm. The stock screws are 21.5 or so?.
However, we havent been able to run the sled yet because the seller gave us the wrong key !!. And I know that if you fiddle with the secondary the belt tends to ride low until you start the sled and give it some rpm. So.. it could be that the seller has fiddled with it for some reason.. who knows.
If the sled runs fine, should we worry about the incorrect ride height?.
When I turn the secondary I`m able to rock it back and forth quite much, will there be more rocking since this sled has reverse?. I`m used to sleds without reverse.
Wellwell that`s all. Would appreciate if someone could give us some clues on this because like I said he hasn`t payed it yet and if we find "errors" then maybe we can get a lower price.

there will be more back and forth (rotational) play in a sled with reverse
OK thanks now we don`t have to worry about that.

It's a 2000 then. Link? Is it on autodb?
Hi !
Here`s the link:
http://www.autodb.no/cgi-bin/scooter/detail.pl?nr=1287168
Last night I went to all my friends and borrowed their keys incase they would fit.. but non fit so we still haven`t fired it up.. . However, I did a compression test and cylinder 1 & 2 showed 140psi and cylinder nr 3 showed 135psi, so atleast the compression is good. (there is 5psi between each step on the gauge so it could be close to 140 on nr. 3 too).
Wellwell
