:o| Greetings all!
long time reader, first time poster: have read all of the posts on the Hc weights. I have tested so many set ups, I almost give up. I was blessed with yamigods piece on the shallow helix recomondation. I have ordered a 50/36 dalton helix for my 2001 srx 700. My question is that I ordered the HC set year before last, and the screws, and washers are different than current ones. In my instructions it says 5 grams in heel and tip with red spring. that is 1 screw and 2 washers in those positions. my problem is that when i pin the throttle, it hits 9k, and then drops to 8k. i know that my helix was wrong. I have almost given up. I love the hard pull, but it drops fast and, and the secondary squeals like crazy, even when i tighten the belt like crazy.
here is what i take from tonys post.
50/36 helix red spring, 5, 6, 7, washers in the heel (how do i get that many on that screw) and 3-4 on the tip. My kit must be out of date. how much weight is that?
thanks for any help.
ps im very confused with the 7.3 etc. my instructions say 5 gram, 3 gram, etc. not .5 .7 etc.
thanks guys
ps am 250 lbs 6 feet and a very aggressive driver 1.25 inch rip saw, stock sled.
thanks

I'm pretty sure the new kits have the even gram weights (i.e., 3.0 gram bolts and 1.0 gram washers), while the older kits don't. They have 4.0/3.3 gram bolts and 0.5 gram washers. You can only add 2 washers per bolt on the newer kits, giving you a max weight of 5.0 grams per hole.
