Stock '98 SRX, 54/44 helix, grn sec spring @ 80 deg, 8dn-20s w/2.4g inner & 2.7g outer, ysy primary spring.

It is running great, pulls, and spins..;-(, like crazy up to ~175km/hr then sort of tops out. Backshift is good, not super, but good.

Launches @ ~8100 and climbs up to ~8400.

Question:
I've read that lightening the inner river will help make it feel 'snappier' and backshift faster. In your expert opinions; should I bother trying the following changes:
Inner: 0.8g and Outer: 4.5g

What kind of result would I see?...what kind of undeseriable side-effects could this type of change cause?...would this be worth trying?

I'm really interested in learning more...its just such a pain in the A$$ to change those rivets every time I want to experiment...especially since I live in the city and have to trailer out to test!

ANY feedback is appreciated!!!

Thanks again!

you can drill and tap to be able to thread "rivit weights" into the swing weights for instant changes. (use locktite)

can't answer your specific question on teh weights, sorry
but what i have been told and have done is add weight to the swing weights. (4.5 grams each rivit) . The srx can keep up with a faster shift. awesome

midrange acceleration for me.

That is personally more helix than i like to run, i would use a lower initial angle, such as a 50 or 51 initial. Anything around a 42-44 final angle is good. Run a green secondary spring for a little better backshift than the red.

Also get yourself some transfer rods and some better studs to hook that monster up. The stock track sucks, throw a 9830 predator or a hacksaw in there.

hmm...ive got a 1" stock polaris track on there now...but I sure do like the idea of studs...i may get 168 of them soon.

thx for the input!
